Northern Ireland Team Win British Field Championships |
The Northern Ireland Field Team have once again won the All British Field Championships. The Team, pictured on the right was made up of Seamus McGreevy, John Kenny, Adrain Hanna, Alan Convery, Pamala Scott, Angela Oakley and Malachy Kerrin. 104 archers competed in the event and it was good to see over 50 visiting archers who came across for the event. |
Although the host club, Lough Cuan had some difficulties with the setting up of the event due to the foot & mouth and some technical problems, Ron Bell and his team of helpers pulled together to put out the course. Due to the space restriction only one 24 target course was out but the targets where placed using the best lay of the land, to produce a very challenging little course. |
The Northern Ireland juniors also shot very well and produced no less than seven new British Champions. All in all the local archers shot to a very high standard and this is reflected in the number of local prize winners. Although this was the first time the event was held in Northern Ireland the visitors seemed to have a great time and can't wait to come back. |
